The Flexible and Online Learning (FOL) unit is comprised of a multidisciplinary team with combined experiences in education, teaching, student
support, design, research, and administration.
The Team’s central position, supporting all staff and students in ATU Donegal, allows the unit to draw from multiple disciplines to explore and
problem-solve outside of normal educational/teaching boundaries, developing a solutions-based approach on the practical understanding of complex
situations, that can arise in the digital realm.
FOL sits in a unique position in the Institution, having access to pedagogical understanding while retaining a strong grasp on how technological
systems interplay within teaching approaches and learning environments. Their position as a support team allows them to see the different support
needs that emerge from a range of academic departments, allowing FOL to act as a network that connects and informs staff, where appropriate
