Industry Training

Work-Based-LearningA critical objective of ATU Donegal is to develop a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within the Institute, the wider community and the entire region.

To this aim, we are proud to coordinate and manage Tech Northwest Skillnet - a training scheme initiative for a network of 40 companies based in Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim who are focused on technology and innovation.

At ATU Donegal we design and run courses that empower these companies and their employees, developing a programme that meets the constantly evolving demands of the competitive and complex modern work environment.

Work Based Learning

ATU Donegal currently enjoys a reputation as one of Ireland’s leading providers of work based learning (WBL). WBL programmes are designed and delivered in conjunction with an external employer organisation and the learners are employees in the external organisation. WBL programmes address challenges and opportunities identified by the employer and the programme is delivered at a time, place and pace that suits the employer and employee. These programmes range in duration from 4 days to 4 years depending on the employer requirements. WBL programmes can be delivered for a single employer (subject to a minimum number of learners) or to a group of employers. In some cases funding may be available.
