The professionally-accredited BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying at LYIT is tailored to meet the expectations and needs of employers. The programme offers students exciting paid placement opportunities where they gain invaluable 'hands' on experience.
Quantity Surveyors are construction professionals who manage and cost plan major construction and civil engineering projects. They are often referred to as 'accountants for the construction industry', advising on the affordability of projects and ensuring that property owners receive optimum design at least cost. In addition Quantity Surveyors advise on procurement, tendering, contractual management, dispute resolution, sustainability, life cycle costing, bank monitoring and delivering projects within budget.
Certain semesters of this course are taken in common with other courses.
Professional accreditation opens doors to global opportunities. This course is accredited by the Society of Chartered Surveyor Ireland (SCSI) and the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
