Architectural Technology

I had left school intending to complete an IT oriented course but had always had a keen interest in buildings, and also design, so when I saw LYIT was offering a new course in 2007 in Architectural Technology I jumped at the opportunity. To me, the facilities offered to students in this course is unparalleled. There are dedicated, state of the art computer labs, specifically allocated for the course with advanced computer systems and the latest software that is regularly used in architectural design offices. The tutors and lecturers who carry the course are actively involved in the building industry, therefore real life examples are used to supplement the coursework. This also has the added benefit of allowing students to gain a foothold in a really competitive and rewarding profession. I would highly recommend the course to anyone thinking of getting into the building industry at any level as the course covers a broad range of subjects from which you can branch off into a multitude of disciplines.
