Safe Return to Campus 2021

LYIT will welcome back non-first year students on campus on Monday 20 September, with first years beginning class one-week later, Monday 27 September. Following the publication of ‘A Safe Return to On-site Further and Higher Education and Research’ (links below) by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (June 2021), the Institute intends to return to the normal range of teaching activities, on-site lectures, laboratories and tutorials from September and work placements will resume.

The return to on-site teaching and learning is supported by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science and has been endorsed by Public Health Authorities. The return to on-site activity will take place within Public Health Guidelines to ensure the safety of students and staff. The on-campus student experience will be facilitated by the ongoing implementation of health and safety measures such as hand hygiene protocols and the requirement for wearing face coverings. Student timetables will be published in early September.
