Cloud Technologies Research

Having worked in the IT industry for quite some time I felt the need to upskill to keep pace with this ever-changing industry. Through research I believed that the new approach to computing was using Cloud Technologies. Returning to college at LYIT on the MSc in Private Cloud Technologies as a mature student was a daunting experience for me. However when I started the course I discovered that I was not the only mature student. I found the course challenging at times but the opportunities to use different cutting edge technologies far outweighed the challenges. This was made possible by having access to the CDC lab in the LYIT.

The Lecturers delivering the course were highly skilled and very dedicated. They as well as other staff within the college were very helpful, encouraging and guided me along whenever I was unsure about anything. As part of the course it was a requirement to gain work placement and complete a dissertation. I was fortunate to obtain my work placement through E + I Engineering. During the process of completing this Masters I have had job offers and made various contacts with companies who wish to employ personnel with Cloud Technology skills. These skills are not readily available in the marketplace as it is relatively new. I feel a graduate is extremely employable on the back of completing this course and would encourage anyone to consider it.
