Our Master of Science in Advancing Health & Social Care is suitable for progression for professionals working in the provision and delivery of ever-changing health and social care agenda. It is a one year, full-time or two year, part-time course.
The Master of Science/Postgraduate Diploma in Advancing Health & Social Care aims to provide you with concepts, theories and academic skills to contribute to an agenda of change in your organisation.
Certain semesters of this course are taken in common with other courses.
Minimum Entry Requirements
The minimum entry requirements are a Level 8 Honours Degree in a relevant discipline such as Health & Social Care, Nursing, Early Childhood Care, Social Work, Youth Work etc. Applicants may be required to undertake an interview. RPL will be considered in accordance with the Quality Assurance of LYIT.
Work Placement
The work placement modules are an integral part of the course. The aim of the placement is to provide learners with an opportunity to gain skills, experience and competence. Please note that with while the institute will make every effort to assist the learner in finding a placement final responsibility for securing the placement resides with the learner. Travel and accommodation are the responsibility of the learner.
Mandatory Training
Students will be required to undertake mandatory training as outlined by the course schedule. This is required prior to students going on placement.
Health Declaration
Applicants wishing to pursue this programme must complete a Health Declaration. Applicants must be deemed fit to practice in order to continue on the programme
Garda Vetting
Non-Eu candidates will not be considered for this course unless there are still places available after all eligible EU candidates have been considered. Offerees are subject to garda vetting. Registration is temporary until garda vetting is successfully completed. Students who cannot complete garda vetting may be unable to go out on necessary placement or to fulfil course requirements. In such cases, students will be ineligible to complete registration & will be required to leave the course.
