I began my studies at LYIT in January of 2011. Having left a previous course, where I had studied IT and Economics, I was unsure of which direction to take. On advice from a friend I approached the Head of the Computing department at LYIT, and with his help I chose a course that suited my interests. Due to my previous studies it was arranged that I could begin my studies at LYIT in the second semester of second year. I was delighted at this news as it meant that I would only have a year and a half of studying before I received my ordinary degree. I really enjoyed my course and feel that I greatly benefited from the smaller numbers in the classrooms. These smaller numbers meant that it was easier to get to know the lecturers and for them to get to know me. The lecturers were very friendly and helpful which made for a more relaxed atmosphere. it also made it very easy for me to approach them with any question I had. A combination of the qualifications that I gained at LYIT and the guidance of a few lecturers led me to the Internship that I am current doing, one which I am very much enjoying!

CloudRanger has been incredibly lucky with the graduates that we have been able to work within the college. There is a constant theme across all the graduates where they want to work in the very latest technologies, are interested to learn and are all without exception, incredibly hard working. This for us is the perfect blend of talent to allow us to build a global high-tech company. Having high-tech graduates close by is enabling CloudRanger to compete on a worldwide stage, delivering the very latest in Cloud projects.

Since then, LYIT has been an invaluable partner in helping us find talented, highly qualified candidates for technology and business services positions at Pramerica. LYIT has been to the forefront in developing our skill requirements and has adjusted its curriculum to ensure that its students have the appropriate technical and business skills, knowledge and the mindset needed for a global financial services organisation such as Pramerica. I deeply appreciate the collaborative and the innovative partnership that has developed particularly over the past number of years. When we started Sendmode, we never envisaged we’d be servicing over 10 million transactions per month. To service this, we needed high skilled IT graduates and turned to the LYIT campus for help. The graduates from LYIT proved to be at a very high level of both skill and professionalism and in fact, all of our technical team are graduates from the LYIT, while we also employ graduates in sales, support and marketing. We would highly recommend graduates from LYIT.
