Joseph studied Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering

“I chose ATU based on their fantastic facilities and on the basis that I could continue living at home for a couple of more years.”

“ATU offer an Engineers Ireland accredited BEng in Civil Engineering which had a huge influence on my course choice. As well as that, ATU have fantastic laboratory facilities and offer a very practical civil engineering course which is not available at many third level institutions.”

“I enjoyed the practical aspects of the Civil Engineering course at ATU. This involved modules such as soil mechanics, land surveying, materials technology, hydraulics and structures. The practical knowledge gained in these modules were vital for entering the construction industry post-graduation.”

“I had a great experience whilst studying at ATU. The quality of lectures were first class and the small class environment made understanding difficult topics much easier. Being able to talk to lecturers on a first name basis was also extremely beneficial.”

Joseph was awarded the Institution of Structural Engineers (IstructE) Student Technician prize for his excellent structural engineering project, titled "The Design & Analysis of Embedded Retaining Systems," which he completed as an undergraduate. The IStructE recognised the outstanding achievement of Joseph in his category for his exceptional academic work. Joseph's hard work and dedication to his studies have earned him this prestigious award.

“My favourite part of studying at ATU was being able to stay at home whilst gaining a third level qualification. This allowed me to be close with friends and family during my studies.”

“Since graduation, I've been working for a Civil Engineering and Construction contractor in Dublin gaining valuable experience within the industry. The knowledge gained at ATU hugely benefitted me to carry out this role.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed my three years at ATU and would recommend it to anybody thinking on attending.”
