Disability Support

Disability SupportHere in the Learning Support Unit we are committed to providing ongoing support for students with disabilities to enable them to achieve their potential.

All of the Institute’s buildings are fully accessible with lifts, automatic doors and accessible toilets.

The Curve staff can help you with any questions or problems you may have. If you need any special support to facilitate your studies at ATU Donegal you should contact the Disability Officer, Orla Callaghan to discuss them.

Applying

There are three steps to apply to the Curve:

  1. Provide evidence of disability: Provide the appropriate documentation for proof of your disability. Please download Proof of Disability form here.
  2. Make Contact with the Disability Officer: You should make an appointment to meet with the Disability Officer, Orla Callaghan and bring any relevant documentation. At this stage you will be asked to fill in a registration form.
  3. Attend your Needs Assessment Appointment: A Needs Assessment will determine the type of supports you may need in college. It will involve an informal discussion about the types of supports you previously obtained and what specific supports may be required throughout your time in ATU Donegal (which are funded through the Fund for Students with Disabilities).
