The programme is designed to develop the leadership talent of managers to deliver significant business impact.  Participants on the programme are senior and middle managers from across a diverse range of organisations who consistently attribute development, progress and advancement in their careers to their participation in, and completion of, the MBS.  During and subsequent to the MBS many participants were promoted to more senior roles in their organisations and they have credited the MBS in enabling them to do so.  Alumni have credited the MBS for better equipping them as managers in a complex and dynamic work environment, providing them with opportunities to advance within their organisations.

From a highly tangible perspective I was promoted 3 times since the MBS into greater areas of complexity and accountability resulting in an entire career shift to the USA in 2016.  I always cite the MBS degree as a key milestone towards where I am currently in my career.”– Caroline Faulkner, VP Enabling Solutions, Prudential Financial USA.

Speaking about the shortlisting, Patricia Doherty, Head of Department of Business Studies at LYIT, commented “the reputation and high regard with which the MBS is held is evident in the profile of the participants we continue to attract from throughout Ireland and beyond. Organisations such as Pramerica, Sita, Allstate, Tesco, Aurivo, Brown Thomas and IBEC continually support the programme”.  She further added that “the programme team are passionate about this unique offering in the North West and its proven ability to support managers in their role as innovators and change champions”.

Participants on this programme have been at senior management level in their organisations, representing multinational and indigenous SMEs from across a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, retail, fintech, agriculture and software.  Feedback has consistently been positive.  MBS graduate Georgina O’Leary, Director of Innovation and Claims Technology, Allstate / Fintech Envoy for Northern Ireland, said “The MBS was an experience that positively impacted my career.  The real world experience married to academic learning really brought what we were learning to life.  But action learning and putting it in to practice made a real difference.  ….. My career has changed many times since the course due to my ability to adapt and apply my learnings to new situations”.
