Aim of each placement:
Placement 1:
▪ Introduction to the theoretical evidence based frameworks for care and associated nursing skills related to the provision of safe care.
Placement 2:
▪ Introduction to professional practice in a variety of clinical settings.
▪ Aims to provide students with the opportunity to participate in the delivery of person-centred care and develop fundamental clinical skills at beginner level of competence under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
Placement 3:
▪ Develop the student's journey towards professional practice within a variety of clinical settings.
▪ Aims to provide students with the opportunity to participate in the delivery of person-centred care and develop fundamental clinical skills at beginner level of competence under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
Placement 4:
▪ Aims to advance the students' knowledge of caring for individual patients/clients, throughout the lifespan, in a variety of practice settings. ▪ Allows students to begin to attain problem-solving and critical thinking skills drawing on knowledge, skills, attitudes and experience already accrued.
▪ Aims to provide students with opportunities for personal and professional development and to further explore and develop a personal philosophy to create their own identities as members of the professional health care team.
Placement 5:
▪ Aims to promote continued development of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills at competent level and facilitate the student to manage delivery of person-centered care effectively in a safe, caring and competent manner whilst taking personal and professional accountability for own actions.
Placement 6: ▪ Aims to promote consolidation of students' theoretical knowledge and clinical competency in preparation for successful transition for eligibility to register as a qualified nurse.
▪ Focuses on the continuous development of knowledge, values, meaning and experience at proficient level; to integrate skills of analysis, theoretical knowledge. problem-solving, clinical decision-making, and reflexivity into everyday clinical nursing practice. |

Aims of each placement:
Placement 1:
▪ Enable the student to integrate theory with practice and to develop positive attitudes and values towards working with children and their families in an early years setting.
Placement 2:
▪ Provide the student with experience within an early years setting so that he/she continues to develop confidence and competence when applying theoretical concepts and principles to the practice of Early Years Care and Education.
Placement 3:
▪ Examine the links between the acquisition and use of skills and knowledge.
▪ Promote reflection and discussion about how theories of child development inform practice and how challenges faced in educational and care settings call for further theoretical and research enquiry. |

Placement 1:
▪ Enable students to integrate theory with practice and to develop positive attituds and values towards working with health and social care service users.
Placement 2:
▪ Implementation of learning experienced to date on the course.
▪ Students are expected to achieve professional standards in relation to their stage of training as defined by statutory oversight agencies and as detailed in the relevant assessment schedule.
Placement 3:
▪ Opportunity in a health & social care setting to assist students in their goal for employment or postgraduate study. |
