This Access for Higher Education course is intended for students who wish to return to study at third level, but who need time and knowledge to get up the speed with the demands of education format.
Students who are successful on this course will obtain the educational qualification for admission to Higher Education courses in a wide range of disciplines. This will not depend on the particular electives chosen. The skills, knowledge and competence developed by the students during this course should ensure a reasonable prospect of success in subsequent studies. This course is free of charge for students. This programme is specifically designed to provide students with an alternative access route to Higher Education which is both formative and enjoyable, based on adult education method of delivery. Students may study in either On-campus or Blended Learning formats to suit their individual needs. For example, On-campus tuition will be provided over 9 hours per week and typically spread over 3 days throughout the academic year. For more course info click here

Minimum Entry Requirements
Leaving Cert: Over 19 years by 1 January in the academic year of entry and have successfully completed at least 5 subjects in the Irish Leaving Certificate or equivalent OR Mature Entry: Candidates may be admitted to the programme on the grounds of mature years (Over 23 by 1st January in the proposed year of entry). OR Leaving Certificate Applied: LCA applicants are required to have achieved 160 credits out of 200 in their final exam. LCA applicants are required to achieve 9 credits out of 12 in English/Communications and 8 credits out of 10 in Maths Applications. OR Further Education Award: Any QQIFET Level 5 Award or equivalent
