Choose ATU Donegal’s Bachelor of Business Part-time Honours Degree

The Bachelor of Business (Hons) degree programme has been specifically designed to suit mature learners. The flexibility of this course makes it an ideal option for those who cannot commit to a full-time business degree, where the classes are part-time, evening classes with blended delivery.

When considering taking on a degree, it is not always as simple as just returning to the classroom. Mature learners, in particular, typically will have a lot more to juggle with their employment, childcare, and personal commitments before even thinking about adding in their studies. The part-time, blended Bachelor of Business is ideal, with an on-campus class each Monday from 6-10pm and an online class taking place on Wednesdays from 6-9pm. This delivery is designed to ensure you get the most out of the degree without having to sacrifice anything else.

An integral part of this particular programme is the focus towards applied and work-based learning. Learners will be equipped with a diverse and flexible range of skills and professional competencies suited to the modern world of business and enterprise.

David McDonagh from Ballyshannon recently completed the Bachelor of Business (Hons) Degree at ATU Donegal. He thoroughly enjoyed his time on the programme but doubted his ability at the start of the programme:

"I decided to return to education and chose to study Business Honours at ATU Donegal because I knew I could work it around my hectic working and family life schedule. I also knew I would receive a top-level education and opportunities to grow my skills academically and practically. The part time accelerated programme at ATU Donegal provides students with the fundamental core business modules, while also allowing them to apply their own experiences to each module. Students learn innovative real-world management from leading highly supportive lecturers and industry experts. Students are not only provided with theoretical knowledge in the classroom but are also given the invaluable opportunity to apply this business knowledge and skills in real-life situations.

ATU Donegal promotes creativity and innovative thinking and encompasses a practical orientated and team-based approach in their style of teaching, preparing its students to be the next generation of industry leaders. They work with students who have been out of education for quite a time to prepare them for their return to college with the many support networks within the college. In my three years at ATU Donegal, I have grown both personally and professionally and have recently changed careers along with opening my own business.

ATU Donegal would suit career-driven and ambitious students or a student looking to return to education after a long absence. My involvement with the Student Ambassador programme opened many doors for me to both build my confidence and partake in university events while applying my knowledge to promote ATU Donegal. I would highly recommend ATU Donegal and Business (LLL) Honours Course to anyone looking to return to education.”

Donald Hannigan decided to return to education after taking over his father’s painting business. Listen to Donald’s story here:

If you are an adult, interested in returning to education part time, consider the three-year part time accelerated Bachelor of Business (Honours).
