ATU Donegal is providing Microsoft Office 365 to all registered students.
The Microsoft Office 365 platform provides students with Outlook (email), OneDrive for Business, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, as well as Microsoft Office suite which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote.
Student Email (Outlook 365)
All registered students are given a college e-mail account, Microsoft Outlook 365, when they register.
Your student email address and user login ID is: studentID@atu.ie e.g. L999999@atu.ie
Your password is the complex password issued by Computer Services department.
Microsoft Outlook 365 is the core services provided by Office365. Outlook is the official e-mail services for ATU Donegal students. Outlook 365 provides you with:
- 20GB inbox storage, up to 100MB attachments
- Provides calendaring, contacts and task list functions.
Note: Outlook 365 is subject to ATU Donegal′s policy and procedure, code of conduct and acceptable usage policies, which is accessible from here.

You can install Microsoft Outlook App on your mobile device or tablet. Download the Outlook App from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Microsoft OneDrive for Business
Microsoft OneDrive is a cloud-based storage area that lets you store, share and organize files on Microsoft’s cloud storage system, and access them from any device (PC, Laptop, Tablet, or Smartphone) with an Internet connection. Microsoft OneDrive offers you 1TB of storage. You're automatically logged into OneDrive when you access your student email. Microsoft OneDrive allows you move, copy, delete, rename or caption your file after you upload them.
The following features are available on Microsoft OneDrive:
- 1TB of cloud storage.
- Organize your files in top-level folders and sub folders that you create.
- Easily share your files with your college colleagues.
- Control who can see your files by assigning access permissions (personal, shared or public) to any of your top-level folders.
- Collaborate on documents. Combine OneDrive with Groups to create a shared document workspace.
- Accessible on any device (Android, Windows, IOS, Apple OS X)
Important Note: Microsoft OneDrive is only available to you as a registered student of ATU Donegal. Once you’re no longer a registered student your OneDrive account will be removed after 6 months. Please ensure you back up all your content from Microsoft OneDrive prior to finishing your course. ATU Donegal Computer Services do not have access to any restore features or tools in Microsoft OneDrive.

Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams allows you to work more effectively as a team, it offers a convenient way to share files with your colleagues and hold conversations about current progress.
Microsoft Teams combines the best of Outlook, Skype for Business and OneDrive in a single user interface application.

Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus
ATU Donegal can offer all registered students Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc,) for free! By following the steps below you can install Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus on up to 5 of your personal machines.
Once installed, the application will "contact Office365" once every month to see if you are still a registered student. If it gets a positive reply it will be ok for another month. Once you leave the Institute it will enter a state of reduced functionality until you purchase a license.
