- 40,000 people are employed within financial services in Ireland today with 8,800 of them specifically within FinTech. This programme has been designed to equip graduates with the core knowledge, skills and competencies to underpin a career as a FinTech Professional in the financial services industry. It aims to address the requirement for employees in the financial services sector to have a more hybrid skillset. Much consultation has taken place with the financial services industry to validate the choice of modules for the programme.
- The duration of the programme is one-year and involves learners undertaking taught modules and a work placement.

- Minimum Entry Requirements
- Applicants will have an Honours degree in Business/Finance/Economics/Mathematics or Computing or in a related discipline with at least 30 credits in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Computing (minimum of Second Class Honours, Grade 2 or equivalent). Applicants may be required to undertake an interview. RPL will be considered in accordance with the quality assurance procedures of LYIT.

- Having successfully completed the Higher Diploma in Business in Finance and Technology (FinTech) participants will be able to:
- Examine the theory and concepts relating to the financial services environment and the growing interaction between finance and technology
- Analyse the operation of the debt markets and the role they play within the financial services sector.
- Apply Project Management tools and techniques within the financial services sector.
- Discuss the operation of equity based instruments and the role of equity markets within in the financial services sector.
- Prepare and manage business solution requirements and modelling, and, evaluate software engineering methods, processes and techniques.
- Demonstrate leadership and operate effectively in a variety of team roles.
- Demonstrate the ability for self-directed and independent learning from completion of various applied tasks.
- Critically evaluate the importance of ethics and their role in the financial services industry
