Renewable Energy Resources

Is this course for me?

This Renewable Energy Resources module aims to cover the key issues in energy systems. It will introduce students to the major concerns arising from environmental effects and depletion of carbon based energy sources. Students will gain an overview of the complexities in choosing and developing alternative energy source.

Entry Requirements

The module is at level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications. A grounding in physics fundamentals and a background in a construction or an engineering related discipline is desirable.

Follow-On Courses

The module may be combined with a Physics 1 module offered in Semester One to form a Certificate in Renewable Energy & Physics fundamentals (10 credits). The module is offered on  two Civil Engineering and Construction entry level programmes; the BEng in Building Services & Renewable Energy (LY517) and the BSc (Hons) in Construction Management (LY528).
