Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Bioanalytical Science
"Tell us a little bit about yourself and what led you to choosing your degree.
I wanted to stay local. I am a big homebird and wasn't ready to leave home. The options available in the college
made this an extremely easy for me and it allowed for me to integrate my love for Science and Donegal into one. My
favourite modules were definitely Anatomy and Physiology and Environmental Science
What was your overall experience of studying at ATU Donegal?
The relationship we had with our lectures was what i enjoyed most about the course. No question was ever a silly
question and they were always there for support. Two years on I am still in contact with my final year project
coordinator. The practical aspect of the course was brilliant. After my third year I obtained a job with Randox for
the summer and felt that my lab skills were excellent, which allowed me to excel in the workplace.
Can you share some details of your career path and/or further studies to date?
I have just completed my Masters in Education through the medium of Irish (Máistir Gairmiúil San Oideachas) in the
University of Galway. I am currently doing resource classes and subbing in Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair and I am
looking for a full time position for the upcoming school year.
Is there any advice you would like to share with us?
Put the work in. The course is challenging and very demanding on time but it is so rewarding at the end of it all. "
