The best choice might be closer than you think!

The deadline for the CAO ‘Change-of-Mind’ facility is 5:00pm, 1 July. Over 60% of CAO applicants use this facility each year, and with the deadline fast approaching, ATU Donegal is encouraging prospective students to consider ATU Donegal in their CAO choices.

All this week, ATU Donegal is spotlighting and profiling students and graduates of the university. If you need support with your decision making this week, perhaps these student stories will help you decide your final choices.

Jamie Herrity chose ATU as a mature student after discovering his passion for culinary arts while working in the hospitality industry. Jamie was confident that his ambition in culinary arts would be supported at ATU Donegal given the prestigious list of graduates that had studied at the Killybegs campus.

Philomena O’Donnell was encouraged by her family and teachers to harness her love of metal work. Philomena backed herself and is now at the halfway mark in the BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering degree and is enjoying all that student life has to offer at ATU Donegal.

It was Matthew McCole’s competitive sporting edge that kept him in Donegal. Matthew, an elite boxer, wanted to continue training with his local club in Dungloe and was delighted that he had the option to match his sporting excellence with academic excellence at ATU Donegal when he was making his final CAO choices.

Far away hills are not always greener as Peadar Mogan found out when he first went to study at a University in Dublin. Peadar was playing for Donegal’s U20’s team and the travel commitment he had to endure a few times a week was taking its toll on him. Peadar made the switch to ATU Donegal and never looked back, he found the right balance between sport and academia which allowed him to have the best possible student experience.

If you want to be part of the success stories, the right CAO choice might be closer than you think. Hear from these students on the ATU Donegal Instagram platform (@atudonegal_) all this week from Monday 27 June – Thursday 30 June.
