Computing Summer Camps Return to ATU Donegal

The Department of Computing at Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Donegal is delighted to welcome back the return of the popular on-campus Computing Summer Camps. For two years, the camps have been entirely virtual, however, this summer, the Computing Camps will be offered online and on-campus during June 2022. There is no cost to attend this years camps, the aim of the camps being to improve the skills and knowledge of secondary school students in the field of computing.  

The camps are open to young people aged between 12-17 years and would be of interest to anyone keen to learn more about the computing discipline.  

 

Two Computing Summer Camps will take place in June: 

Week 1: 

10am -3pm, Tuesday 7 to Friday 10 June

Thomas Dowling, Head of Department of Computing, commented, “Engaging students at secondary school level is an important focus of the Department of Computing at ATU Donegal.  Currently in its eight year, the Computing Summer Camps have provided participants with an introduction into disciplines such as web design, networking and virtual reality.  This year, ATU Donegal is holding two weeks of camps. Week 1 will be offered as an online and on-campus camp option, this will provide young people from all over Ireland with a chance to participate in the camp. Week 2 will be held on-campus only, guided by the Departments expert academic staff. There is no charge to participate in this year’s camps, the camps are completely free! The camps provide second level students with a fun and engaging way to enjoy Computing.”
