I am currently studying on the part-time Bachelor of Business degree, year 3, while I work full-time. Although this sounds like quite a challenge, effective time management makes it very achievable and still allows for some normality in your life! It is surprisingly easy to get into the routine of fitting study around your usual weekly activities. Each semester goes so fast given the interesting nature of the content. Our class has grown into a tight knit group and I know I have made lifelong friends and professional contacts. We have a WhatsApp group where we all help and encourage each other with assignments and exam preparation.
The content is challenging, interesting and hugely relevant to many aspects of my professional development, it is much more than simply studying business disciplines. It has taught me valuable skills to help me in my current role, and given me the confidence to tackle challenges I would otherwise have required management support with. I will be making an enforced career change in 2023 due to business closure, but the course has given me enormous confidence in preparing for the challenges that lie ahead and rather than being apprehensive about change, I am now looking forward to it and believe employers will recognise the value of the programme.
The facilities in ATU are exceptional, both in-house and remote capabilities. Module content is well laid out through an online portal which can also be accessed via an app. It is a one stop shop for all course materials. The lecturers have been a fantastic support, delivering their modules with the perfect balance of professionalism and friendly support. While the course content is sometimes challenging, the lecturers create an environment to help you succeed. I would strongly recommend the course to anyone looking to develop themselves professionally.
I chose to study Business LLL Honours at ATU Donegal because I knew I could work it around my hectic working / family life schedule, and I would receive a top-level education and opportunities to grow my skills academically and practically. The part-time accelerated programme at ATU Donegal provides students with fundamental core business modules, while also allowing them to apply their own experiences to each module. Students learn innovative real-world management from leading highly supportive lecturers and industry experts. Students are not only provided with theoretical knowledge in the classroom but are also given the invaluable opportunity to apply this business knowledge and skills in real-life situations.
ATU Donegal promotes creativity and innovative thinking and encompasses a practical orientated and team-based approach in their style of teaching, preparing students to be the next generation of industry leaders. They work with students who have been out of education to prepare them for their return to college with many support networks within the college. In my three years at ATU Donegal, I have grown both personally and professionally, and have recently changed careers along with opening my own business. ATU Donegal would suit career-driven and ambitious students or someone looking to return to education after a long absence. My involvement with the Student Ambassador programme opened many doors for me to both build my confidence and partake in university events, while applying my knowledge to promote ATU Donegal. I would highly recommend ATU Donegal and Business (LLL) Honours Degree to anyone looking to return to education.

Currently, one of our full-time permanent Customer Service Officers in Ulster Bank Ireland DAC is completing the BBus Hons Lifelong Learning Degree. He has received a top-level education and excellent opportunity to grow his skills academically and practically through the Faculty of Business in ATU - Donegal. The Business Studies programme at ATU – Donegal has provided him with the fundamental core business modules, while also allowing him to explore modules across different faculties to expand and diversify his knowledge.
The course gave him the opportunity to research many aspects of business dynamics and practically apply same. The course structure afforded him the opportunity to pursue his dreams and ambitions through a programme that was flexible and convenient for his schedule. Managing one’s time can be challenging, especially when one is employed in a full-time position, however his approach was exceptionally disciplined, and one must admire his commitment and dedication over the past year.
Our employee is fortunate that not only was he provided with theoretical knowledge in the classroom, but he has had the opportunity to apply his business knowledge and skills in real life situations within our organisation. This business studies programme has inspired his creativity and innovative thinking and has encompassed practical orientated and team-based approaches in its style of teaching, preparing him to be one of the next generation of organisational leaders.
