4 years / Level 8 / Full-time
This level 8 programme is designed to give the graduate experience of a wide range of fundamental computing and mathematical skills. A good balance of core computing skills in programming, computer architecture, and data base technologies opens opportunities for graduate to attractive careers across computing.
Strength in mathematics and a knowledge of applied mathematical methods provides additional exciting roles for these graduates in areas where mathematical approaches are pursued such as in Data Science. This programme includes a six-month placement in year 3 and all students will complete a major project in their final year.
Certain semesters of this course are taken in common with other courses.
Graduates who wish to diversify their skills into other areas or who wish to specialise further in their chosen field may go on to do a full range of taught Masters programmes (see prospectus) and Research programmes such as Level 9 (MSc) and Level 10 (Doctoral) studies at Letterkenny Institute of Technology and other institutions and universities at home and abroad.
