This is a multidisciplinary degree which has been developed by the Departments of Computing and Nursing and Healthcare with input from the Departments of Law and Humanities and Business Studies. This programme will help students develop their understanding of how ICT is being used to improve healthcare.
They will learn about computer systems, healthcare models, healthcare regulation and compliance, ethics, law, economic models, artificial intelligence, data analytics, physiology, programming, app development and systems design.
For example wearable devices and apps that monitor exercise, sleep patterns, etc., are becoming increasingly common. They help people monitor and adjust their lifestyle choices. The data gathered also provides medical professionals with early warnings and often life-saving information. This is just one of many used for digital healthcare technologies.

The work placement modules are an integral part of the course. The aim of the placement is to provide learners with an opportunity to gain skills, experience and competence. Please note that with while the institute will make every effort to assist the learner in finding a placement final responsibility for securing the placement resides with the learner.
