Access OfficerAccess Officer: McGonagle, Brian Learning Support Tutor: McCormack, Roisin Technical Support: Carlin, Joseph Clerical Officer: Ann Brennan The Access Office was established in April 2001 to support:
- Mature Students
- Students with physical/learning difficulties
- Students from low income families
The Access Office is staffed by the Access Officer, a Learning Support Specialist and a clerical officer. A number of additional staff are employed to particular Acess Office initatives. The whole-time permanent position of Access Officer was sanctioned by the Department of Education and Science, funding for the Learning Support Specialist post comes from the Fund for Studnents with Disabilites and the clerical officer is paid from central funds.
» Access Office
The Access Office Accommodation includes a small teaching room, a fourteen-station computer laboratory and an office. The Access Office will move to a purpose built Learning Support Unit in September 2004. The Learning Support Unit will occupy 320 m2 and includes – Two Computer Labs, Mature Students’ Room, Classroom Study Room ,Consultation Room, Technician’s Office and Two Project Offices.
