Local students have creative eye on building the future

Architectural Technology Showcase 2013

AT Showcase_post eventMr Tom Parlon, Director General of the Construction Industry Federation, said he was “very impressed” with the work of Architectural Technology students, when he officially opened the Architectural Technology Showcase 2013 recently at Letterkenny Institute of Technology.  The graduate exhibition showcases project work across all programmes in the Department of Civil Engineering and Construction.  Featuring drawings, physical models, computer-generated models and many innovative approaches to building detailing, it is an excellent display of talent - largely done using the 3D drawing package, Revit, an up-to-the-minute component of Building Information Modelling (BIM).  The exhibition runs until 10 June and all are welcome.  Check out the LYIT Facebook page and YouTube for more information.
