Parking

We have on-campus parking at LYIT and at three additional off-campus car parks which are within a five or 10 minute walk of campus buildings. Please take this into account when driving to LYIT. Since parking can become an issue, it is probably best if you go directly to one of the off-campus car parks if you arrive at LYIT after 9.15 am.

McGinley Motors: a multi-story car park accessible from close to the courthouse on Justice Walsh Road or opposite the entrance to Letterkenny Community Centre on Pearse Road. It has 600 spaces for LYIT’s use and opens from 6.45 am to 7 pm.
Mount Errigal Hotel: located on the Ramelton Road opposite the hotel between Bassetts and Floor World. The spaces are unmarked but the area should accommodate a minimum of fifty cars.
Church of the Irish Martyrs: located on the Gortlee Road, there are 63 designated spaces for LYIT’s use. Please see the diagram below for details.

Please be aware that cars will be parked at the owners’ risk at all times.

Clamping: for safety reasons, there are some instances where cars may be clamped.

causing obstruction of emergency exits, fire-fighting equipment, access routes, properly parked cars, carriageways
on yellow hatched areas
in places set aside for the disabled where unwarranted, ie, where a valid registered ‘blue badge’ is not displayed
on grassed or planted areas
on, or partially on, footpaths or marked pedestrian walkways, eg, the new walkway in the large new car park to the East side of the pitch.

A clamp release fee of €65 is payable to the external clamping company.
