The Programme invites analytical thinking with an emphasis on solving visual communication problems through the development of original solutions, aided by technical media. Students are encouraged to develop their creative practice according to their interests and strengths.

    Minimum Academic Entry Requirements
    The programme is offered in full-time mode for one year. Applicants should have a relevant Level 7 award in graphic design. Equivalent qualifications with 180 ECTS credits and appropriate learning outcomes will be considered

    Having successfully completed this programme, graduates will be able to:
    • Present a thorough knowledge of the skills, tools, and professional practices specific to the field of graphic design
    • Examine the intersections between traditional skills and knowledge with new developments in the field, especially in the fast-moving digital arena
    • Develop and utilise personal concepts and imagery through realising finished professional standard work
    • Plan, schedule, resource and manage a project from concept to finished artefact
    • Evaluate and utilise transferable skills which may be used to advantage in multiple contexts in the field of graphic design, including self-employment, in order to increase flexibility as a practitioner
    • Perform effectively in working groups, contributing from a range of skill sets
    • Formulate a flexible and competent practice in a fast moving field of creative activity
    • Synthesise professional practice, personal engagement and critical thinking into a nuanced approach to creative work and its application in a larger context such as design history, industry and wider visual culture
