- This programme has been designed to provide students, who know they want to study some aspect of art/design at third level but are unsure as to which specific area, with the opportunity to take modules in Animation, Digital Film & Video, Graphic & Digital Design, Fashion with Promotion, as well as core art/design modules, before having to choose which area to specialise in for their Level 8 Degree.
- The first semester of the programme is common to all students. The module entitled Programme Fundamentals will afford equal exposure to Animation, Digital Film & Video, Graphic & Digital Design and Fashion with Promotion to enable them make an informed choice as regards their preferred specialism in semester two.
- Minimum Academic Entry Requirements
- LC 6 subjects with at least 2 subjects at Higher Level Grade H5 or better and 4 subjects at Ordinary Level O6 or Higher Level Grade H7 or better. Subjects required: English or Irish and Leaving Certificate Art or Design Communication Graphics or equivalent at Ordinary Level Grade O6 or Higher Level Grade H7 or better.
Where Art/Design is not offered at Leaving Certificate a portfolio of work representative of the applicant’s ability will be accepted.
Or
Have obtained a relevant QQI FET/FETAC Level 5 award
Or
For entry purposes RPL will be considered in accordance with the quality assurance procedures on LYIT.
