- This 2 year programme has been designed to provide students with a skillset matched to the needs of small businesses locally and nationally in the areas of Administration, IT and Customer Service. Students will study a range of modules including Office Administration, Professional Keyboarding, Accounting and VAT, Customer Relationship Management and Digital Marketing.
- Particular attention is paid in first year to supporting the transition to 3rd level study through enabling modules such as Learning to Learn & ICT in Semester 1 and Writing Skills in Semester 2.
- Minimum Entry Requirements

- Min. Five O6/H7, English or Irish O6/H7, Maths F2/O6/H7
- In the absence of Mathematics, 6 Leaving Certificate Subjects Grade OD including Irish or English and (a) two commercial subjects or (b) one commercial subject and a continental language
- Have obtained any QQI FET Level 5 full award
- For entry purposes RPL will be considered in accordance with the quality assurance procedures of LYIT.
- Any applicant applying based on non EU awards/qualifications must apply directly to the International Office at LYIT. In order to be considered for entry international applicants must present a qualification that is recognised as being equivalent to a Level 5 Irish qualification and an IELTS qualification of 5.5 minimum.

- Graduates find themselves working in the private and public sectors eg County Council, Hospitals, Education Sector, Accounting Practices, Legal Practices, Health Centers, GP Surgeries, IT and Retail Organisations, and roles may involve:
- Providing both clerical and administrative support either as part of a team or individually
- Playing a vital part in the administration and smooth-running of an office
- Coordinating and implementing office procedures
- Written and oral communication, word processing and keyboarding (requiring IT, organisational and presentation skills) as well as the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
- Devising and maintaining office systems
